OUR HISTORY
Glenn A. Evans & Company has been in business since 1978. Since inception, we have been a specialty agency dealing exclusively with surety bonds. We believe that the contractor’s relationship with their bond agent must be a personal one that is based on mutual trust and respect. In our 30 years of business, we have developed many such relationships with good clients who have become good friends. We have seen many clients grow and move from non-standard markets to standard markets with preferred rates.
The owner, Glenn A. Evans, has been in the surety bond industry for over 30 years. He began his career as an underwriter for Continental Insurance Company. From there he moved to CNA Insurance Company where he worked as the Assistant Bond Manager of Contract Surety. In 1978 Glenn made the decision to start his own agency and opened his first office in South Holland, Illinois. During his many years in the industry, he has seen the surety market change in many different aspects and has responded to those changes.
Our agency has been involved in both federal and state programs aimed at educating new and emerging contractors on the bonding process. We have participated in seminars for the U.S. Department of Transportation, the Illinois Department of Transportation and the Chicago Subcontractors Association.
In December of 2008, we merged with The Horton Group, a local insurance broker.
